6 Installation Guide

6.1 Installing Smart IM

To install Smart IM on your device, you should first obtain an installation file.
The file is usually named SmartIM_S60_1_1_6.sis, however this name may
change in future versions; consult your administrator to obtain the accurate
file name.
If the installation file is found on your PC, use the PC suite for Nokia 7610
software to transfer it to the inbox of your mobile device, via Bluetooth, IrDA,
serial port or USB connection.
Once in your inbox, select the installation file by highlighting it and clicking the
joystick. The installer will be launched, to install Smart IM on your device.
When done, the Smart IM icon will appear in your applications menu.
During installation, a few notification messages may appear, asking for your authorization. Answer
Yes to all the installer's questions.

6.2 Uninstalling Smart IM

Press the (Menu) key to switch to the main applications menu of your
device. Select Tools and press the joystick. In the Tools screen that appears,
highlight Manager and press the joystick. Scroll through the applications
manager screen to highlight Smart IM, then press the Options key and select
Remove.
If Smart IM does not appear in your applications manager, it is not installed on your device, thus
cannot be uninstalled.
Keep in mind that uninstalling Smart IM is irreversible; to reinstall the application, follow the installation
instructions again (See 6.1).
