    BEFORE YOU BEGIN About Caller Identification (Caller ID) This product has a Caller ID with Call Waiting feature that works with service from your local phone service provider. Caller ID with Call Waiting lets you see who’s calling before you answer the phone, even when you’re on another call.

    INSTALLATION Before You Install Choose a location for the base near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. Charge the battery for at least 24 hours the first time. Check for dial tone. After the batteries are charged, pick up the handset and press P; you should hear a dial tone.

    TELEPHONE OPERATION Headset Jack You can use this telephone hands-free when you install a 2.5 mm headset (SKU 24099), purchased separately. Plug the headset into the jack located on the right side of the handset (under the small rubber flap). Do not force the connection, but make sure the plug fits securely.

    TELEPHONE OPERATION Operating Range This cordless telephone operates within the maximum power allowed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Even so, this handset and base can communicate over only a certain distance — which can vary with the locations of the base and handset, the weather, and the construction of your home or office.

    TELEPHONE MEMORY This cordless phone can store 50 telephone numbers with names, each up to 16 digits long. Store Memory Numbers Make sure the handset is off. Press M. The first available location is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen. Enter the telephone number.
