TURNING YOUR AT V
To achieve maximum traction while riding off -
road, the two rear wheels are mounted solidly
o n o n e a x l e a n d t u r n t o g e t h e r a t t h e s a m e s p e e d .
T h e r e f o r e , u n l e s s t h e w h e e l o n t h e i n s i d e o f t h e
t u r n i s a l l o w e d t o s l i p o r l o s e s o m e t r a c t i o n , t h e
AT V w i l l r e s i s t t u r n i n g . A s p e c i a l t u r n i n g
technique must be used to allow the AT V t o
m a k e t u r n s q u i c k l y a n d e a s i l y . I t i s e s s e n t i a l
t h a t t h i s s k i l l b e l e a r n e d f i r s t a t l o w s p e e d .
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Turning improperly.

AT V could go out of contro l , c a u s i n g a
collision or overturn.
H O W TO AV OID THE HAZARD
Always follow proper p rocedures for
turning as described in this Owner' s
Manual.
Practice turning at low speeds before a t -
tempting to turn at faster speeds. Do not
turn at speeds too fast for your skills or
the conditions.
As you approach a curve, slow down and begin
t o t u r n t h e h a n d l e b a r s i n t h e d e s i r e d d i r e c t i o n . As
you do so, put your weight on the footboard to
the outside of the turn (opposite your desired
d i r e c t i o n ) a n d l e a n y o u r u p p e r b o d y i n t o t h e t u r n .
Use the throttle to maintain an even speed throu-
g h t h e t u r n . This maneuver will let the wheel on
t h e i n s i d e o f t h e t u r n s l i p s l i g h t l y , a l l o w i n g t h e
AT V t o m a k e t h e t u r n p r o p e r l y.
