Using the Keyboard
The PDT 3400 uses an alphanumeric keyboard that produces the
26-character alphabet (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and assorted
characters. The keypad is color-coded to indicate which modifier
key (FUNC, SHFT, CTRL) to press to produce a particular
character or action.
•
The alpha keys marked in yellow (A-Z) by default produce the
lower case letters a-z. To produce upper-case letters, press
SHFT and the corresponding alpha key.

The default numeric keypad produces the numbers 0-9.
•
Press SHFT (yellow) and the corresponding numeric key to
produce the special characters color-coded above the keys in
yellow.

Press FUNC (blue) and the corresponding numeric key to pro-
duce the function keys F1-F10.
•
Press FUNC and the following keys to produce the cursor
keys shown at right:

Press BKSP to clear a character.
•
Press SPACE to advance one character.
•
Press ENTER after entering data or a command.
•
CTRL performs the control function and is under application
control.
•
TAB performs the tab function and is under application
control.
