5.2 Connecting the PV Generator (DC)
Interruption of the current flow
When using distributor connectors (Y connectors), ensure that these are not visible or
accessible so that the DC circuit cannot be interrupted with these.
The current flow must always be interrupted beforehand via the Electronic Solar Switch.
• Always unplug the Electronic Solar Switch (ESS) in order to interrupt the current flow.
• Requirements for the modules of the connected strings:
– same type
– same number
– identical alignment
– identical tilt
• The connection cables of the PV modules must be equipped with plug connectors so that the
Sunny Boy's DC plug connectors can be connected to them.
A pre-assembled set for the free cable ends of a string is available as an optional accessory. The SMA
order codes for the various connectors can be found in section 12 „Accessories" (43).
• The following limit values at the DC input of the Sunny Boy may not be exceeded:
