The back refractory panel is broken on my MEL36a wood burning fireplace. I have procurred a replacement panel and **** trying to replace it. It appears that you have to take out a side refractory panel before removing the back panel. I have removed the screw above each of these panels, but they still wont come out. I cannot find the replacement procedure on line. Can you tell me how to replace the back refractory panel? Thank you

To replace the back refractory panel on a Heatilator MEL36 wood-burning fireplace:

1. Make sure the fireplace is completely cool.
2. Remove any existing firebox components such as the grate or andirons.
3. Carefully remove the damaged back refractory panel.
4. Insert the replacement back refractory panel, ensuring it fits snugly. The correct size for the MEL36 is 26-9/16" x 16-1/8" x 5/8".
5. Do not burn the fireplace without the refractory panel installed.
6. To prevent cracking from thermal shock, season the new refractory before full use.

Use only the specified replacement refractory panel provided by the manufacturer.
