Win95\98\ME Installation Procedure
Connecting SCSI cable: Included with the ScanPartner is a SCSI cable used to connect
the scanner to the host adapter. Located on the back of the scanner are 2 SCSI ports,
one 50-pin centronics and one DB25-pin. The SP93GX has two 50-pin centronics ports.
Use the cable provided to connect to the 50-pin centronics port and the DB25-pin port on
the SCSI controller. The SP3091\3092DC's have 2 High Density (HD) 50-pin
connectors. Ensure all connections are securely fastened.
WARNING! DO NOT connect the scanner to the parallel port on the workstation. Doing
so may damage the scanner).
Powering On: For proper communication between the Scanner and the Workstation,
switch on the scanner prior to switching on the workstation. The power, ready and paper
jam LED will all light up, afterwards the scanner will complete its self initialization and the
paper jam light will go off in approximately 10 seconds. The SP93GX power LED will
flash and then go solid. The SP3091\3092DC's will flash a P, 0, and then 1.
Bootup the system: When the New Hardware wizard comes up, allow it to search your
system for the scanner. Next, when you get the no device driver found message, select
finish. SPECIAL NOTE: There is no INF file at this time, therefore the scanner will be
placed under "other devices" with a "?" in device manager. This is normal.
Step E: Installing the ISIS driver.
1. Create a new folder and name it ISIS Download.
2. Next go to our Web page - www.fcpa.com and click on Support & Downloads.
3. In the sub frame under the Product Support column click on Scanners.
4. On the next page select Drivers and Downloads.
5. Afterwards click on ISIS Software Drivers.
6. Locate the appropriate ISIS driver for your scanner by cross-referencing the scanner
model column on the left to the software column.
7. Double click on the driver file name and the File Download box will popup.
