100 Mbps hub to connect additional PCs. It is important to remember that all networked PCs must have 100 Mbps network cards (such as the NETGEAR Model FA310TX) installed. These five easy steps provide information for installing and using your network: 1.
Install the Hub Set the hub on a flat surface or mount it on a wall and choose a location that is close to an electrical outlet, exposes the front and rear panels to allow connection of the network cables and easy monitoring of the LEDs, and places the hub and PCs close enough to connect the network cables.
Install a Network Card in Each PC Note: Touch a grounded metal object to free yourself of static electricity before you handle the network card. Turn the power off and unplug the power cord from your computer. Remove the PC cover. Choose an available PCI slot (PCI slots are the shorter slots) and remove the corresponding back plate from the PC chassis.
Connect the Network Cables Using the UTP cables that are supplied, connect any port on the hub to the port on a network card in each PC. Note: Set the Normal/Uplink push button on the Model FE104 hub to Normal when connecting port 4 on the hub to either a PC or the network card.
