Setting Your Printer with the PS Option

Installing PPD Files

If you want to use the PostScript driver to print a document,
your printer should have:
• PS SIMM (Option)
• 12 MB or more RAM. Phaser 3310 comes with 4 MB as
standard and the 8 MB SIMM included in the PS Option Kit
must also be installed.
For instructions on installing the printer options,
see
Appendix
F, "Printer Options."
PPDs, in combination with the PostScript driver, access the
printer features and allow the computer to communicate with
the printer. An installation program for the PPDs is provided on
the Phaser 3310 CD-ROM.
Notes:
• Installing the PostScript printer driver may require the use of the
operating system files on the original CD-ROM or diskette that
came with your system.
• If you have a PostScript 3 driver and want to use it, you must install
the PostScript 3 PPD which is also provided on the Phaser 3310
CD-ROM.
