Using the on-screen
display
You can check the current operating status
and disc information of VIDEO CDs or audio
CDs during playback or in stop mode by
superimposing a display on top of the images
on your TV screen.

Press ON SCREEN.
Each time you press this button, the on-
screen display changes as follows:
n ON SCREEN 1
ON SCREEN OFF N
ON SCREEN 1 display
Momentary display of the operating status
when you perform an operation (such as
starting playback).
1 Operating status
"PLAY" when you start playback
"STOP" when you stop playback
"PAUSE" when you pause playback

• During playback
Either the elapsed time or remaining time
of the current track is usually displayed.
• During stop mode (except for Program
Play)
The status of the ACTIVE/COMET and
advanced DNR functions are also
displayed.
DNR NORMAL
• During stop mode in Program Play
Display is the same as ON SCREEN 1.
