Problem solving guide
Problem
There are humming
noises.
The display and
sensors are dark. The
Start sensor flashes
slowly.
A programme cannot
be started.
Power cut.
The display is in a
different language.
The interior drum
lighting is not
switched on.

Possible cause
The compressor is
operating.
The display and sensor
lighting have switched
off automatically to
save energy.
There is no immediate
cause.
When power is restored to the tumble dryer after a
power cut, the programme will continue automatically.
A different language
has been selected.
The lighting switches
off automatically (to
save energy).
Access via a code has
been activated.
Remedy
None. These noises are quite
normal and do not indicate a
fault.
– Press the Start sensor
briefly. The lighting comes
back on again.
– See "Settings menu -
Display / Sensor lighting".
– Is the dryer switched on?
– Is the mains plug plugged
in?
– Is the door closed
properly?
– Has the fuse or circuit
breaker tripped?
– If you cannot remedy the
problem, there is a fault.
Call Miele.
Set the language you want.
The flag symbol J will guide
you.
– Switch the dryer off and
then on again.
– If the lamp needs to be
replaced, follow the
instructions in "Changing
the lamp" at the end of this
section.
– After entering the code, the
lamp will light up again.
