If your transceiver seems to be malfunctioning, please check the fol-
lowing points before sending it to a service centre.
<Problem> The transceiver's power cannot be turned ON.
<Solution> • The battery is depleted.
<Problem> No sound from the speaker.
<Solution> • Squelch level is too tight.
<Problem> Transmitting is impossible, or high power cannot be
<Solution> • The battery is exhausted.
<Problem> The displayed channel cannot be changed.
<Solution> • Lock function is activated.
<Problem> Scan does not start.
<Solution> • No channel is programmed in the scan group.
<Problem> No beeps.
<Solution> • Beep tones are turned OFF.

TROUBLESHOOTING

➥ Recharge the battery pack (pgs. 26–32).
• Bad connection to the battery pack.
➥ Check the connection to the transceiver (p. 2).
➥ Set squelch to the threshold point in the User set
mode (p. 19).
• Volume level is too low.
➥ Rotate [VOL] to set a suitable level (p. 4).
• Water has entered to the [SP MIC] jack.
➥ Dry the [SP MIC] jack.

➥ Verify the battery voltage is correct in the User set

• The output power is set to low.
