    Getting started Installation options Your telephone base is ready for tabletop use. If you want to mount your telephone on a wall, use the provided wall-mount bracket to connect with a standard dual- stud telephone wall-mounting plate. If you do not have this mounting plate, you can purchase one from many hardware or consumer electronics retailers.

    Multiple handset use Intercom Use the intercom feature for conversations between two handsets. You can buy extra accessory handsets (AT&T model CL80143/CL80173/CL80183/CL80193) to expand your system. Use a handset to initiate intercom calls and transfer calls. Press MENU/ in idle mode to enter the main menu. Press q SELECT to scroll to >Intercom, then press /SELECT.

    Multiple handset use Call transfer using intercom Use the intercom feature to transfer an outside call to another system handset. You can also share an outside call with another system handset.     Multiple handset use Push-to-talk (PTT) PTT call to a group of handsets When there are multiple handsets registered to the phone system, PTT supports one-to-group calls. PTT supports a maximum of one-to-four calls when two to five handsets are registered, and a maximum of one-to-three calls when six or more handsets are registered.

    Directory Directory The directory can store up to 50 entries, which are shared by all system handsets. Create a new directory entry Press MENU/ when the handset is not in use. SELECT Scroll to select >Directory, then select >Add contact. Use the dialing keys to enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) when prompted.

The directory shows the first name beginning with the first letter associated with the dialing key, if there is an entry in the directory beginning with that letter.

    Directory Speed dial The telephone system has 9 speed dial locations (2-9, 0) and a voicemail access 1 where you can store the telephone numbers you wish location to dial more quickly.     Caller ID Caller ID This product supports caller ID services offered by most telephone service providers. The telephone stores caller ID information of the last 50 incoming calls in the telephone base. This information is common to all handsets.     If changing the telephone line cord does not help, the wall jack (or the wiring to this wall jack) may be defective. Try using a different wall jack in your home to connect your CL82143 telephone, or contact your telephone service provider (charges may apply).
