TAKING CARE OF UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS
ENGINE PROBLEMS
Starter operates, but engine will not start
Possible cause
Throttle not in proper position.
Fuel valve is OFF.
Sediment cup obstructed.
Stale or old fuel.
Spark plug cap off.
Improper electrode gap or
deposits in the spark plug gap.
Engine has low power
Possible cause
Throttle lever not in the FAST
position.
Too fast ground speed when
blowing wet, deep snow puts
excessive load on engine.
Wet, deep cuts place
excessive load on engine.
Discharge chute restricted.
Correction
Throttle must be in FAST position,
choke OFF for a hot start, choke
ON for a cold start.
Turn fuel valve to ON (see page
15). Check for contaminates in
sediment cup (see page 59).
Be sure tank has fresh fuel. Drain
carburetor and sediment cup (page
59).
Make sure cap is connected. Verify
that spark plug is free of deposits,
and has proper gap (page 49).
Correction
Always move the throttle lever to
FAST when blowing snow.
Blow snow at slower ground
speed.
Reduce snow blowing swath.
Clear discharge chute obstructions
(page 22).
