ENGINE PROBLEMS
Starter operates, but engine will not start
Possible cause
Throttle not in proper
position.
Fuel valve is OFF.
Sediment cup obstructed.
Stale or old fuel.
Spark plug cap off.
Improper electrode gap or
deposits in the spark plug gap.
Correction
Throttle must be in FAST
position, choke OFF for a hot
start, choke ON for a cold start
(see page 22).
Turn fuel valve to ON
(see page 22).
Check for contaminates in
sediment cup (see page 53).
Be sure tank has fresh fuel.
Drain carburetor and sediment
cup (see page 53).
Make sure cap is connected.
Verify that spark plug is free of
deposits, and has proper gap
(see page 44).
