455 - 403 Similarities
Although the Model 455 is very similar to the 403 Miniportrait in design and operation,
the only identical assemblies are the hand grip assembly and sonar PC board
assembly. Numerous other components are also shared between the two models,
as shown in the "common use" columns on the parts Lists in the Parts Catalog.

Tools Required

In addition to a low-wattage soldering iron, soldering aid ("greenstick") and needlenose
pliers, these tools will also be needed:
Phillips head Driver Bit P/N U51B, magnetized.
Wooden Chuck P/N U51, to hold Driver Bit P/N U51B.
Thin-Blade "stiletto" style tool for removing cemented cover panels.
Small curved-jaw pliers with tape-cushioned jaws, for removing lenses.
Dump Probe, for discharging flash capacitors.
Adhesive for recementing cover panels, bottom rubber, etc.

Cautions

Discharge the flash capacitors with the Dump Probe as soon as the flash circuit board
is exposed, to prevent possible shocks.
Keep track of the screws used in each location: although similar-appearing, screws of
slightly different lengths, thread sizes, and head styles are used.
Mount the pack film holder frame assembly with the channel for the film Holder at
the bottom (locked padlock symbols at the top), so that exposed film is pulled downward,
from the bottom.
