Troubleshooting Guide –

PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
Major physical or electrical
damage is evident.
The machine is dead--no open
circuit voltage and no wire feed
when the gun trigger is activated.
The cooling fan is not running.
There is no open circuit voltage
or wire feed when the gun trigger
is activated. The cooling fan is
running.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely,
contact the Lincoln Electric Service Department for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR

POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
OUTPUT PROBLEMS
1. Contact your local Lincoln
Electric authorized field service
facility.
1. Make certain the input power
switch (S1) is in the "ON"
position.
2. Check the input voltage at the
machine.
The input voltage
must match the rating plate and
the reconnect panel.
3. Check for blown or missing
fuses in the input lines.
1. Make sure the input voltage is
correct
and
nameplate rating and reconnect
panel configuration.
2. One of the two thermostats may
be open due to machine
overheating. If the machine
operates
normally
cooling off period then check for
proper
fan
ventilation. Make certain the
machine's duty cycle is not
being exceeded.

RECOMMENDED
COURSE OF ACTION
1. Contact
Service Department 1-888-
935-3877.
1. Check the input power switch
(S1). It may be faulty.
2. Check for broken or missing
wires at the reconnect panel.
3. Perform the Main Transformer
Test.
1. The baffle mounted rectifier
matches
the
bridge may be faulty. Check
and replace if necessary.
2. Perform the Main Transformer
Test.
3. Check the thermostats and
associated leads for loose or
after
a
faulty connections. See the
Wiring Diagram.
