pump
Special tools, testers and aids required
♦ Setting straightedge MP 1-312
♦ Setting device for TDC MP 1-313
♦ Locking pin 3359
♦ Counterholder MP 1-216
♦ Wrench for tensioning toothed belt (e.g. Matra
V159, Hazet 2587 or Stahlwille 127-17)
♦ Connection fitting V.A.G 1318/10
♦ Vacuum pump, e.g. V.A.G 1390
♦ Torque wrench 5...50 Nm, e.g. V.A.G 1331
♦ Ring wrench for injection lines, e.g. 3035
♦ Puller T40001 with hook T40001/2 and
T40001/3
♦ Feeler gauges
♦ Steel straightedge (marking tool), if required
♦ Transparent plastic line
Removing
-
Remove top engine trim panel.
-
Remove all fuel lines of injection pump.
Note:
Use open ring wrench, e.g. 3035, for removing
high-pressure line.

Cover over the openings with a clean cloth.

Remove top toothed belt guard and cylinder
head cover as well as vacuum pump.
