Chapter 11—Firmware Upgrading

11.1 Requirements

The printer's firmware is upgraded by replacing the EPROMs on the
bottom side of the main board. Please refer to the EasyCoder PC4/PC41
Spare Parts Catalog for more information on how to obtain replacement
EPROMs.
Disconnect the printer's power source.

Flip the printer upside down and pry open the accessory cover using a

small straight-slot screwdriver.
Locate the EPROM slots (see below) and remove the old EPROMs

using a PLCC Extractor tool or equivalent.
Insert the new EPROMs into their appropriate slots (U3 and U4 respec-

tively), and put the accessory cover back in place.
