Chapter 10—Starting Up

10.1 Overview

The diagram below shows how the printer switches between Normal mode,
Test mode and Factory Default mode. Each mode is described in greater
detail on the next page and in their respective sections in the pages ahead.

When the printer power is turned on, the buffer, processor, and hardware is
initiated upon which the LED control lamp shines green and the configua-
tion is loaded. The firmware checks if the Feed key is being pressed or not.
If the Feed key is pressed, the printer will run a test to see if media is loaded.
If this is the case, the printer will proceed into Test mode. If not, the printer
will go into Factory Default Mode.
If the Feed key is not pressed, the printer will start operating in Normal
mode.
