Is the copy paper positioned correctly un-
der the hold-down tabs?
Push the copy paper down in the cassette
and release it.
Does it rise smoothly?
Is paper recommended by Canon being
used?

Action
Set the copy paper cor-
rectly.
1. Check the width of the
copy paper.
2. Check the position of
the side panels of the
cassette.
3. Measure the strength
of the paper-lifting
springs. If they are
weak, replace them.
Suggest that the user use
paper recommended by
Canon.
Check if the hold-down
tabs are deformed.
