lne charn brake is a device designed to stop
ihe chain if kickback occurs. The chain brake
actrvates automatically in the event of kick-
back. The chain brake activates manually if the
lront hand guard is pushed forward. The chain
brake s disengaged by pulling the front hand
guard Dack toward the front handle as far as

C H A I N B R A K E
Ensure chain brake is disengaged by pulling
the front hand guard back toward the front han-
dle as far as possible. The chain brake must be
drsengaged before cutting with the saw.
ljasoiine Before operation, gasoline musl be
mrxed wrth a good quality synthetic 2 cycle air
cooled engine oil desrgned to be mjxed at a ra
lio of 40:1. PoulanMEED EATER brand svn-
thetrc orl rs recomnended. A 40.1 Lltro rs
obtained by mixing 3.2 fluid ounces (95 mt) of
oil with 1 gallon (4 liters) of unleaded ctasoline.

thetic oil. Pourtheentire contents of this con
tainer rnto 1 gallon (4 liters) of gasoline to

engrne damage. When mixing fuel follow the

read and follow the safety rules listed under
