Poulan oil resists high temperature thinning. If Poulan bar and chain oil is not available, use a good grade SAE 30 oil. S Never use waste oil for bar and chain lubri- cation. -

WARNING: The chain must not move when the engine runs at idle speed. If the chain moves at idle speed refer to CAR- BURETOR ADJUSTMENT within manual. Avoid contact with the muffler. A hot muffler can cause serious burns. To stop the engine move the ON/STOP switch to the STOP position. - Page 11 handle many times depending on how badly the unit is flooded. start the saw and carefully reenter the cut. To avoid kickback and chain damage, do not use a metal wedge. Do not attempt to restart your saw when it is pinched or hung in a log. Use a wedge to remove pinched saw Turn saw OFF and use a plastic or wooden wedge to force cut open. -

If any dealer other than an authorized service dealer performs work on the product, Poulan may not pay for repairs under warranty. It is your responsibility to maintain and perform general mainte- nance. - Page 15 to appear under the saw after engine stops. Do not confuse this with a leaking oil tank. Cylinder Air Filter Cover Cover Air Filter INSPECT MUFFLER AND SPARK ARRESTING SCREEN As the unit is used, carbon deposits build up on the muffler and spark arresting screen, and must be removed to avoid creating a fire hazard or affecting engine performance. Replace the spark arresting screen if breaks occur. -
