The shutter button has two positions. Pressing the
shutter button halfway
(CD)
sets focus and exposure;
to shoot, press the shutter button the rest of the way
down (®).

If the camera is able to focus, it will beep twice
and the indicator lamp will glow green.
If the camera is unable to focus,
the focus fra me

composition or use focus lock (pg. 18).
