Remove the Printed Material, then Reload the Material and Perform Cutting

-Setting the Base Point and the Align Point-
This feature is for performing position alignment in cases where printing is performed, after which the material removed from the
machine for further processing (such as laminating), then again loaded on the machine for cutting.
- When cutting off a piece of material that has been printed from a roll, then again loading it as [PIECE], make sure
there is 80 mm (3-3/16 in.) or more from where printing ended to the material's end edge (the place where cut off
from the roll).
When cutting off the material automatically, set a page margin of 80 mm (3-3/16 in.) or more (see "Setting the Page
Margins").
- If you're using dye-based inks, crop marks cannot be detected automatically.
Follow the steps in "Adjusting Manually."
- When performing continuous printing with [CROP MARK] set to [ENABLE], set the page margin at 20 mm (13/16
in.) or more. If there is not enough margin, crop marks may not be detected accurately.
- Crop marks are printed bidirectionally.
If you have changed the material to a different type or changed the head height, adjust bidirectional printing. For
more information about bidirectional printing, see "User's Reference - Making Corrections for Printing."
- If the data including the crop marks is wider than the printing/cutting area of the
loaded material, then when data is sent, the message at right appears.
To ignore this message and continue output, press the [ENTER] key. Note that the
portion outside the printing/cutting area is not outputted.
To stop printing, stop sending data from the computer, then press the [SETUP] key.
Increase the printing/cutting area by replacing with a larger piece of material or
changing the positions on the pinch rollers, then send the data again.
Verifying the Printing/Cutting Area When Crop Marks Are Applied
When [CROP MARK] is set to [ENABLE], the area where
output is possible is reduced by an amount equal to the size
of the crop marks.
When the output area of the entire
piece of material is displayed, press
the [ENTER] key. The output area
excluding the crop marks is
displayed while you hold down the
key.
To output with crop marks, make
sure the size of the data fits inside
this area.
- The [BASE] setting for automatic crop-mark detection only aligns the base point before and after you reload the
material.
To automatically correct for misalignment due to expansion or contraction of the material, you need to set the align
point. Select [BASE-ALIGN] for automatic crop-mark detection, or manually make the settings for [BASE POINT]
and [ALIGN POINT].
When you are correcting for misalignment by hand, refer to "Aligning the Printing Length and Cutting Length" and
make the settings manually.
