Network Setup of the WJ-HD500

After the WJ-HDB502 Network Board is installed in the WJ-
HD500 Digital Disk Recorder, confirm that the communica-
tion parameters are set correctly in the WJ-HD500 SETUP
menu of the Disk Recorder.
Open the COMMUNICATION SETUP menu in the WJ-
HD500 SETUP menu, then set the IP Address, Netmask
and Gateway specified.
Refer to the Operating Instructions included in the WJ-
HD500 for further details.

Note: When the Disk Recorder with the Network board is
connected alone to a PC as Basic Connection, these
settings are not required and use the factory default
setting.

PC Setup

The following procedures are only required setup when the
WJ-HD500 with the Network Board is connected alone to a
PC as Basic Connection.
The factory default settings of the WJ-HDB502 are as fol-
lows:
IP address: 192.168.0.10
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
For a client PC to access WJ-HDB502 factory default set-
tings, set the IP address of the PC to 192.168.0.

q Power up the client PC.
w Change the PC's TCP/IP to match the factory default
settings of the WJ-HD500.
If your PC's OS is Windows95 or Windows98, proceed
as follows:
(1) Click the [Start] button, point to settings, and then
click Control Panel.

(3) In the Network dialog box, click the Configuration
tab.
(4) Choose TCP/IP, and then click the [Properties]
button to display the TCP/IP Properties dialog box.
(5) Specify an IP Address and Subnet Mask as follows:

r Start the WWW browser, and select [Do not use proxy
for address 192.168.0.10].
If your browser is Netscape Communicator, proceed as
