PLACEMENT OF OPTIONAL LOGS

WARNING: Turn off fi replace and allow to cool com-
pletely before beginning installation.
Kit Contents:
• Two (2) ceramic fi ber driftwood logs
• Four (4) log support pin brackets
• Eight (8) #8 bracket mounting screws
NOTE — Do not handle logs with your bare hands. Always
wear gloves to prevent skin irritation from ceramic fi -
bers. After handling the logs, wash your hands with soap
and water to remove any traces of fi bers.
NOTE: Prior to installing the log set, you must fi rst install the
pin brackets on the burner. Fireglass and the air defl ection
glass should only be installed after the pin brackets are in
place. The logs must then be placed in the unit after the
fi reglass and air defl ection glass. If the optional logs are
added after the air defl ection glass and fi reglass are in use,
move the fi reglass away from the areas in Figure 11 and
Figure 12 –

The positioning of the logs is critical to
the safe and clean operation of this heater.
Sooting and other problems may result if the
logs are not properly and fi rmly positioned
in the appliance. Never add additional logs
or embellishments such as pine cones,
vermiculite or rock wool to the heater. Only
use the logs supplied with the optional log
kit (AVFL42DLS).

with diagrams below or to use only
parts specifically approved for this
heater may result in property damage or
personal injury.
