6 Troubleshooting
The paper is not loaded correctly in the manual feeder. Remove the paper and load it
again.
After loading the paper, the [Press SET to Continue] message appears. Press the
<Eject/Set> button on the control panel to start printing.
If the <Eject/Set> button is not pressed for 5 seconds, the printer will start printing
automatically.

The yellow tapes are not removed from the drum cartridge.
Remove the drum cartridge from the printer, completely pull out the yellow tapes
from the side of the cartridge, and then reinstall it to the printer.
Remove the paper from the manual feeder.
This message appears when the output color for the X toner cartridge is light.
Remove the X toner cartridge from the printer and shake the toner cartridge. This
may solve the problem.
It is time to replace the drum cartridge.
Replace the drum cartridge.

It is time to replace the fuser unit.
Replace the fuser unit.

The X toner cartridge has run out of toner, or the waste toner box becomes full.
Replace the X toner cartridge.

The fuser unit is not installed correctly.
Switch the power off, and then reinstall the fuser unit.
To print the job, press the <Eject/Set> button, or to cancel the job, press the <Cancel
Job> button on the control panel.
A system error occurred.
Copy down the error code (***-***) on the display, and contact our Customer Support
Center or your dealers.
Pressing the <Eject/Set> button on the control panel clears the error.
Note
• If the six-digit number (***-***) is "016-739" or "016-740", the network expansion
card (optional) may not be installed correctly. Reinstall the network expansion card
to the printer and try printing again.
The printer may be at fault.
Switch the power off, wait for the display to go out, and switch the power back on
again. If the same error code is displayed, copy down the error code (***-***), and
contact our Customer Support Center or your dealers.
