C. Troubleshooting by Image Fault

1. The copy is too light (halftone areas only).

2. The copy is too light (dark areas as well).

3. The copy is too light (extremely light overall).

Step
Checks
1
Clean the lens, reflecting plate,
and intensity sensor.
Is the problem corrected?

Press the Copy Start key, and
switch the copier OFF in the
middle of operation; then, open
the top cover.
Is the toner image on the pho-
tosensitive drum more or less
normal before transfer?
Be sure to check quickly to
protect the drum against light.

Is the transfer charging roller
normal?

Try paper fresh out of package.
Is the copy density higher?

Replace the cartridge.
Is the problem corrected?
