The sealing lip of the replacement radial seal is
offset to the inside by 3 mm so that it does not
run in a groove which may have been produced
on the running surface on the crankshaft by the
standard radial seal.
A Standard radial seal
The radial seal1 is installed into the end cover
flush without any sealant.
Oil leaks can be determined after spraying the
cleaned and dried surrounding area with
Mercedes-Benz contrast spray white, Part No.
000 989 03 59.
