Power On

Turn on power to the computer and to the printer. The printer power
switch is located next to the power cord on the back. When the power
comes on, the carriage will move left across the platen then return and
stop on the right side. The front panel OK light will turn red and the
Square light will turn green when the printer is ready.

Loading Paper

1. Before loading a new paper roll always make sure the drive
shaft is clean. See the Routine Maintenance section for more de-
tails.
2. Place a paper hub in each end of the paper roll using a rubber
mallet.
3. Slide the feed shaft through the paper hubs and the paper roll.
If a paper hub falls out, press it firmly back into the end of the
paper roll and reseat it with a rubber mallet.
4. This step is very important. Center the paper roll on the feed
shaft by aligning the hubs with the black markings on the feed
shaft. Make sure the hubs remain securely in place.
