Setting Exercise Timer
Thehomegeneratorisequippedwithanexercisetimerthat
willstartandexercisethesystemonceeverysevendays.
Duringthisexerciseperiod,theunitrunsforapproximately
0minutesandthenshutsdown.Electricalloadtransfer
DOESNOToccurduringtheexercisecycle(unlessautility
poweroutageoccurs).
Aswitchonthecontrolpanelislabeled"SetExercise"(see
System Control Panel).Thespecificdayandthespecific
timeofdaythisswitchispressedisprogrammedintothe
controlboardmemory.Thisdateandtimeisthenused
toautomaticallyinitiatethesystemexercisecycle.The
"SETEXERCISE"legendonthecontrolpanelwillflashuntil
thesetexercisecycleisset.
ToperformtheSetExerciseprocedure:
 1. Choosethedayandtimeyouwantyourhomegenerator
toexercise.
 . Onthatdayandtime,pressandholddownthe
"SetExercise"switchforthreeseconds.
NOTE:"SETEXERCISE"willflashuntiltheswitchispressed
forthreeseconds,then"SETEXERCISE"willilluminatefor
5seconds,andfinallyturnoff.
 3. Theunitwillthenstartandrunit's0minuteexercise
cycle.
Forexample,ifyoupressthe"SetExercise"buttonon
Sundaymorningat10:00AM,theunitwillrunanimmediate
exercisecycleandthenthefollowingSundayat10:00AM
(+/-1/hour).
NOTE:"SetExercise"willonlyworkiftheunitisinthe
Automaticmodeandthisexactprocedureisfollowed.The
exerciserwillneedtobere-setifthe15Ampfuseisremoved
orchanged,orifthe1VoltDCbatteryisdisconnected.
Ifyouwanttochangethedayandtimetheunitexercises,
simplyperformthe"SetExercise"procedureattheexact
weekdayandtimeyouwantittotakeplace.

Maintenance

Servicing the System
Toservicesystem:
 1. SetthesystemswitchtoOFF.
 . Setthegenerator'smaincircuitbreakertoitsOFF
position.
 3. Utilityvoltageispresent.Disconnectpowerbefore
servicingbyremovingthetwoAmpfusesfromthe
transferswitch.
Fault Detection System
Thegeneratormayhavetorunforlongperiodsoftimewith
nooperatorpresent.Forthatreason,thesystemisequipped
withsensorsthatautomaticallyshutdownthegenerator
intheeventofpotentiallydamagingconditions,suchas
lowoilpressure,hightemperature,overspeed,andother
conditions.
Thegenerator'scontrolpanelhasadigitaldisplaythatshows
faultcodes,like"FC_1".Thetablebelowliststhedetected
fault,thefaultcodeasdisplayedonthecontrolpanel,and
thenumberofblinksseenontheremoteLEDindicator.

Lowoilpressure
Lowvoltage
Enginefailstostart
Lowfrequency
Engineoverspeed
Hightemperature
Transferswitchfault
TheremoteLEDindicatorisinstalledataconvenientinside
location.TheLEDwillremainlitwhenthegeneratorisin
AUTO.TheLEDwillturnonandoffinaseriesofblinksthat
correspondtothefaultdetectedinyourhomegenerator.The
blinkpatternisrepeatedwithabriefpausebetweeneach
seriesofblinks.
Reset Fault Detection System
Theoperatormustresetthefaultdetectionsystemeachtime
itactivates.Todoso,placethesystemswitchintheOFF
positionfor5secondsormore.Remedythefaultcondition,
thenreturnthehomegeneratortoservicebyplacingthe
systemswitchintheAUTOposition.
Adescriptionofeachfaultandsuggestedremediesareas
follows:
No LED - Discharged Battery
IfthereisadetectedfaultconditionbuttheLEDisnot
blinking,thisisbecausethebatteryiscompletelydischarged.
Toremedytheproblem,removethe15Ampfuseand
disconnectthebatteryfromthegenerator.Takethebattery
toalocalbatterystoreforanalysis.ReplaceONLYwithsame
typebatteryasdescribedinBatteryinOperation.Replace
thebatteryafterithasbeenfullyrecharged,connectingthe
NEGATIVEcablelast.Theninstallthe15Ampfuseinthe
controlpanel.
NOTE:Withthebatteryinstalled,allwiringtotransferswitch
andhomegeneratorcompleted,utilitypowersuppliedto
theAutomaticTransferSwitch,andtheunitinAUTOmode,
thebatteryreceivesatricklechargewhiletheengineisnot
running.Thetricklechargeisnotabletorechargeabattery
thatiscompletelydischarged.SeeBatteryinMaintenance.
