Restoring Lost Data

Error Messages

One or more of the following messages may appear
during the procedure:
If you press ENTER in step 2 without having
inserted a tape, the SEARCHING TAPE screen from
step 3 is followed by this message:
NO CASSETTE
PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN
If you mistakenly inserted a PR tape or a non-INDEX
Plus+ tape, after ejecting the tape, the SEARCHING
TAPE screen is followed by one of two messages:
THIS TAPE IS
A PRE-RECORDED TAPE
PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN
THIS TAPE IS
A NON-INDEX PLUS+ TAPE
Insert the correct tape.
If the number of the inserted tape can't be read by
the VCR, the SEARCHING TAPE screen is followed
by this message:
THIS TAPE# CAN NOT
PLEASE INSERT ONE OF
FOLLOWING BACK-UP TAPES
LATEST
SECOND
PRESS(ENTER)TO RESTORE
PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN
Insert the correct tape.

If you insert several different incorrect tapes, or the
same one repeatedly, this screen follows the
SEARCHING TAPE screen:

Press CANCEL, then re-perform the procedure from
step 1.
If you inserted the wrong HR tape, the SEARCHING
TAPE screen is followed by this screen:

FOLLOWING BACK-UP TAPES

Insert the correct tape.
If the data could not be restored, the following
