Initializing The Library

In order to make room for data from another INDEX
Plus+ VCR's directory, you can eliminate all data
currently in the library.
Preparation
1. Turn on the power to the TV and the VCR.
2. Set the TV to the channel or mode appropriate for
video playback.
3. Insert an HR tape.
Procedure
1 Press INDEX Plus+. The tape's directory appears.

PRESS(INDEXPlus+)TO EXIT
Press F3.
2 The UTILITY screen appears.
1 IMPORT OTHER LIBRARY
2 DISABLE INDEX PLUS+
3 ERASE LIBRARY
4 BACK-UP INFORMATION
MEMORY USED
PRESS(1),(2),(3)or(4)
PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN
Press 3.
NOTES:
At the bottom of the screen, the amount of memory
currently being used is shown. It begins blinking
when there's no memory space open.
If you press 1, the "WARNING" screen that comes
up when you import another library appears.

ERASE LIBRARY

PRESS(CLEAR)
IF YOU ACTIVATE THIS
FUNCTION,ALL DATA WILL

PRESS(CANCEL)TO CANCEL
Press CLEAR to continue, or press CANCEL to return
to the UTILITY screen.
4 The following screen (red background) appears:
ERASE LIBRARY
ERASE ALL LIBRARY DATA !
ARE YOU SURE ?
(ENTER) : YES
(CANCEL) : NO
The VCR gives you one chance to change your mind,
as initializing the library erases all data currently
stored there. To go ahead and initialize, select YES by
pressing ENTER, then proceed to step 5. If you
change your mind, select NO by pressing CANCEL.
The UTILITY screen reappears.
5 If there's a tape with the library's back-up
information on it, a screen like this one appears:
BACK-UP INFORMATION
PLEASE WRITE DOWN FOR
FUTURE RESTORATION

(ENTER):OK (CANCEL):STOP
To make sure you can restore the original library at
some point in the future, copy down the back-up
tape's Tape Number, Address Number and Program
Number. After writing down the numbers, press
ENTER. Or press CANCEL to return to the UTILITY
screen.
