Finding A Program
NOTE: If you press PLAY or STOP while the directory
appears, and for some reason the VCR cannot find the
program you selected on the inserted tape, the
following screen appears to tell you this. Re-perform
the procedure from step 1.

Tape Number Search

In this case the VCR uses the Tape Number to find
the desired program. All tapes recorded on an INDEX
Plus+ VCR, and those indexed using INDEX Plus+,
have Tape Numbers.
1 Follow the instructions in the box under "Searching
For a Program" on page 16 to access the FIND
screen.

PRESS(INDEXPlus+)TO EXIT
Press 2.
2 The TAPE# screen appears.

THEN PRESS(ENTER)
PRESS(CLEAR)TO MAKE
PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN
Input the Tape Number using the DIGIT buttons.
Press CLEAR to make corrections, or CANCEL to quit
the process. Once the number is input, press ENTER.

3 a If the number you input is not in the VCR's
memory, the following screen appears:

PRESS(CANCEL)TO RETURN

Press CANCEL to return to the TAPE# screen, then
perform step 2 again.
3 b If the number you input is accepted, the directory
corresponding to the Tape Number you entered
appears. Insert the correct tape and, after
selecting the desired program using the
CURSOR button (VOL +/–), press PLAY or
STOP. Continue on to step 4.
4 The following screen appears to let you know the
VCR is searching the tape for your program:
SEARCHING FOR...
TIGERS VS GIANTS
PRESS(CANCEL)TO CANCEL
5 Normally the VCR finds your program quickly and
starts playback from the begnning of the selected
program, or stops at that point.
