To apply an echo to your voice
While the Mic Mix Mode is activated...

Reducing the Lead Vocal
—Vocal Masking
If you want to reduce the lead vocal (of any source), you can
use the Vocal Masking Mode.
V. MASKING

Cancels vocal on stereo sources.
V.MASK 2
Cancels the right audio channel.
To sing into microphone(s), activate the Mic Mixing Mode
(follow steps 1 to 3 and 6 on page 31).
To cancel the Vocal Masking Mode, select "OFF."

Scoring Your Karaoke Skill

This System can score your Karaoke skill by comparing your
singing along with the vocal on the playback disc.
• This function is for disc playback only.
• It is recommended to select the sound track as follows (see
page 17):
For DVD Video: Select a sound track with vocal.
For SVCD/VCD: Select "ST," "ST1," or "ST2."

Select "DVD/CD" as the source.

Activate the Karaoke scoring mode.
• During the Karaoke scoring mode,
KARAOKE
scoring will start when playback is

started.

Start playback and Sing into the microphone.
Scoring function starts and the Mic Mixing Mode is
automatically activated (with the last adjustment for
echo).
• See also steps 1 to 3, and 6 on page 31.
• Adjust echo level and key if you want (see the left
column).
After the song ends, playback stops and the score board
appears on the TV screen with fanfare.

• If you start playback another track, start scoring function
again.
To stop the playback in the middle of the song, press 7.
The scoring function is not canceled and your singing along
is scored until that time.
To deactivate the scoring function, press KARAOKE
SCORING. (The Mic Mixing Mode remains activated.)
• When press 8, scoring is canceled. When playback starts
again, scoring starts from that point.
• When press 4 or ¢, scoring is canceled and restarts
from next track.
• If you do not sing 2 minutes from scoring start, scoring is
canceled.
