SECTION III - Unit Preparation

Handling Instructions

The PRESTIGE is generally easier to handle
and maneuver once removed from the shipping
carton and pallet.
To remove the shipping carton and pallet:
CAUTION
Use care not to lift the unit from, or place
the unit on the front plastic contro l
panel, damage can occur. Use care not to
drop, bump or rotate the boiler upside
down, as damage to the boiler will result.
1. Remove any shipping straps and open the
side of the shipping carton.
2. Slide the unit with the foam inserts out of
the carton.
3. Discard all packing materials.

Wall Mounting Installation

1. The PRESTIGE should be wall mounted
using the bracket kit provided with the boil-
er. The Prestige is not designed for floor
installation. If floor installation is required
an optional floor stand is available through
Triangle Tube.
WARNING
The wall used for mounting the PRES-
TIGE must be vertically plumbed and
capable of supporting a minimum 175
pounds. Failure to comply with these
requirements could result in personal
i n j u ry, death or substantial pro p e rt y
damage.
2. For additional information regarding the
mounting of the PRESTIGE onto a wall,
reference the wall mounting bracket kit
instructions included on pages 63 and 64.
NOTICE
Remove factory installed plugs on gas
and water connections before installation.

Hydrostatic Pressure Test

BEST PRACTICES
Prior to permanently connecting water,
gas supply or electrical supply, perform
a pressure hydrostatic test of the boiler
water connections to ensure all piping
connections within the boiler enclosure
were not damaged during shipment.
NOTICE
Remove factory installed plugs on gas
and water connections before installation.

Hydrostatic Test Preparation

WARNING
Use a two-wrench method when tighten-
ing fittings or piping onto the boiler con-
nections. Use one wrench to prevent the
boiler connection from twisting and the
second wrench to tighten the fitting or
piping. Failure to support the boiler con-
nection could damage the boiler and its
internal piping.
1. Temporarily plug the PRV c o n n e c t i o n
using a 3/4" NPT plug. Use pipe dope spar-
ingly to allow removal of the plug upon
completion of the test.
2. Pipe the manual air vent (supplied) onto the
1/2 inch connection of the reducing tee
located at the top of the unit, as shown in
Fig. 5, page 14. The manual air vent will
not be removed after the completion of test,
so ensure adequate pipe dope is applied.
3. Temporarily cap the CH and DHW connec-
tions as shown in Fig. 5, Page 14, using 1
inch NPT caps. Use pipe dope sparingly to
allow removal of the caps upon completion
of the test.
