REMOVING THE GAS SAFETY VALVE
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect from electrical supply before servic-
ing unit.
Failure to do so could result in death or electrical
shock.
CAUTION: When you work on the gas range, be
careful when handling the sheet metal parts. Sharp
edges may be present, and you can cut yourself if
you are not careful.
1.
Pull the range away from the wall so that you
can access the back.
2.
Turn off the gas to the range and disconnect
the power cord from the wall outlet.
3.
Remove the oven door (see page 1-24 for the
procedure).

4.
Remove the racks from inside the oven.
5.
Remove the oven floor and the heat shield
(see the page 3-21).
6.
Loosen the locking screw and remove the
thermo-bulb from the standing pilot.
7.
Disconnect the gas line fitting from the stand-
ing pilot.
If you are servicing the standing pilot, perform step
8, otherwise skip it.
8.
Remove the mounting screw from the old
standing pilot and remove it from the oven
burner, then mount the new pilot in its place,
and reassemble the range.
9.
Remove the old gas safety valve from the
range, then install the new safety valve in its
place.
10. Connect the gas line to the gas safety valve.
11. Reassemble the range.
