4.2 Turning the water heater on and off

Turning the appliance on: under normal operating conditions, turn the water heater on by simply pressing the
ON/OFF switch (1). The "SMILE LED" (6) turns on to confirm the activation of the heating phase, the DISPLAY (10)
shows the temperature and the green light of the ECO HP (4) button turns on to signal the heat pump operation mode.
Turning the appliance off: under normal operating conditions, turn the water heater off by simply pressing the
ON/OFF switch (1). The "SMILE LED" (6), DISPLAY (10) and all other signals turn off.
(All remaining functions, options and programming procedures are described in detail in the paragraphs that follow)

4.3 Mode of operation

The NUOS water heater operates with greater efficiency compared to traditional technology; it allows for saving on
operation costs when it functions in the heat pump mode.
The user may nevertheless benefit from additional functions (water temperature up to 65°C, accelerated attainment
of full operation, etc.) by manually activating the additional heating element, bearing in mind that this mode operates
at a lower energy efficiency level compared to the heat pump mode.
However, in order to increase user awareness on using energy in a more rational way, the electronic control system
was devised to make the appliance operate only in the heat pump mode at the end of the heating element heating
cycle.
It follows that there are three different modes of operation; these are summarised in the table below and described
in the paragraphs that follow.
