TROUBLESHOOTING

9 The radiator fan motor fails to turn.
Check:
1. fuse
2. battery
3. main switch
4. fan motor
5. fan motor relay
6. thermo sensor
7. wiring harness
(of the entire cooling system)
NOTE:
9 Before troubleshooting, remove the following
part(s):
1. side cowlings (left and right)
2. center panel (lower)
3. rear cowling (right)
4. coolant
9 Troubleshoot with the following special service
tool(s).
Pocket tester

1. Fuse
9 Check the fuse for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSE" in chapter
3.
9 Is the fuse OK?
YES NO
Replace the fuse.

2. Battery
9 Check the condition of the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND CHARGING THE
BATTERY" in chapter 3.
Minimum open-circuit voltage
12.8 V or more at 20 ° C (68 ° F)
9 Is the battery OK?
YES

9 Check the main switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
9 Is the main switch OK?
YES

9 Clean the battery
terminals.
9 Recharge or
replace the bat-
tery.

Replace the main
switch.
