CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT
SPROCKET
1. Check:
9 camshaft sprocket
Worn more than 1/4 tooth a → Replace the
camshaft sprocket and the timing chain as a
set.

b Correct
1 Timing chain
2 Camshaft sprocket

INSTALLING THE CAMSHAFT AND
ROCKER ARMS
1. Lubricate:
9 camshaft journals
Recommended lubricant
Engine oil
2. Lubricate:
9 rocker arm inside surface
9 camshaft oil passage
Recommended lubricant
Molybdenum disulfide grease
3. Install:
9 camshaft retainer 1
9 camshaft retainer bolt
NOTE:
Install the camshaft retainer with the bent ends
facing inward.
