Connecting the DTR-8.4 —Continued

Connecting a CD Player

■ Using Optical or Coaxial Connections
• Use an optical digital audio cable to connect the
DTR-8.4's DIGITAL IN OPT 1 to the optical output
on your CD player, as shown.
OR
• Use a coaxial digital audio cable to connect the
DTR-8.4's DIGITAL IN COAX 2, or 3 to the coaxial

OPTICAL
Initially, the DIGITAL IN OPT 1 input is assigned to the
CD input source. If you connect your CD player to a dif-
ferent digital input, you'll need to assign that input to the
CD input source (see page 45).
■ Using Analog Connections
Even if your CD player is connected digitally (coaxial or
optical), to use
, or to record audio from your CD
player, you'll need to make analog audio connections as
well.
Use an analog audio cable (RCA/phono) to connect the
DTR-8.4's AUDIO CD IN L/R inputs to the analog audio
outputs on your CD player, as shown.
