CONNECTION OF THE POWER CABLE
Check that the electricity supply to your home is appropriate to the device. The required voltage and fre-
quency can be read on the back of the device beside the socket for the mains. If the electricity supply is
appropriate, push the inlet connector of the supplied mains cable firmly into socket for the mains on the
back of the device (17). Connect the other end of the mains cable to a mains socket.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE

Button(s) Description
The amplifier is switched on and off using this button at the front panel.
POWER (1)
When switched off the device it is separated from the AC power. There is
no standby function.
This button changes to the playback of the audio source connected at the

"INPUT" (10/11). The front panel as well as the remote control carry those

buttons. The name of the currently selected input channel appears in the
buttons
display (4). Before switching over the input channel, the volume (6/7)(20)

should be turned down as a precaution!
Hold down the button "VOL+" to turn the volume up. Use "VOL-" to turn it
down. The display (4) shows the current volume value. The minimum volu-

me value is -99dB, the maximum volume appears at latest with 00dB, for

most speakers much below this value. The volume setting does not influence
the signal at the output "REC OUT" (11).
The MUTE function switches off the loudspeakers (15), the preamplifier out-
MUTE put "OUTPUT PRE" (13) and the recording output "REC OUT"(12). Pressing
(9)(18) it again restores the volume to its original setting. As long as the amplifier is
muted, the display shows "MUTING".
Connect your PC, laptop or similar devices by the USB-cable that is deliver-
ed along with, with the USB-input socket (10) on the flipside of the device.
Please select the input "USB" with the input selector button "SELECT" (3).
USB (3)(19) As soon as you now play music with your media-player software at the PC
(or similar device), the SV-400 receives this signal at the USB-port (10) and
displays this through the boxes to the loudspeaker terminals.
The control of the individual title takes place through the PC (or similar).
The brightness of the display can be adjusted in three steps. In it's original
condition the brightness is on it's maximum. After pushing this button, the

brightness is reduced. After pushing agian, the brightness is at it's minimum.
After pushing the the fourth time, the original brightness is restored.
