Screening.Calls
Your phone allows you to listen to callers leaving a message
without answering the phone. You can always hear callers from
the base speaker. To screen an incoming call, make sure your
phone has Call Screening activated. To activate this feature,
please see page 51.
• To adjust the volume, press SELECT/
base.
• To answer the call, pick up the corded handset or press TALK
on the base.
• To mute the Call Screen, press

• If you turn the answering system off, you cannot screen a call.
Remotely.Operating.Your.Answering.
Machine
You can access your answering machine while you are away
from home to check, play, delete messages or even record a new
greeting or turn your answering machine on and off. Once you
enter the remote access menu, you must enter a command within
15 seconds, or the system automatically hangs up and returns to
standby.
To remotely operate your answering machine from any touch-
tone telephone:
1. Call your telephone number.
2. During the greeting, press 0 and enter your PIN code (see
"Setting a Security Code or Personal Identification Number
(PIN)" on page 54).
3. The system announces the current time and the number of
messages stored in memory. Then you hear "To play incoming
messages, press zero two. For help, press one zero."
