Beam dialog box, SPLIT and Multi beam tabs
SPLIT tab description
TX pulse length: Pulse length can be changed. The Short pulse offers better resolution,
while the Middle and Long pulses are useful for middle- and long-range detection,
respectively. Note that the Long pulse is not available when the range is 10 m. The
message "Stop transmission. Error found at TX pulse check stage." is displayed. Select a
longer range to restore normal operation.
Multi beam tab description
TX frequency: Sets TX frequency, and the choices are Low, Standard and High. For normal
use, choose Standard. When interference exists because your vessel is near another vessel
whose echo sounder operates on the same frequency as the FCV-30, choose Low or High
as appropriate to remove this interference.
TX pulse length: Pulse length is automatically changed with display range and shift. The
Standard pulse offers better resolution, while the Long pulse is useful for long-range
detection.
TX power: Sets output power. The higher the number the greater the output power.
Depth/Distance: This function compensates for depth difference between the picture from
the downward beam and beams from other directions when the sonar beam is oriented in a
direction other than downward.
Depth: Compensation applied (range scale shows depth)
Distance: No compensation (range scale shows distance from transducer)
Simul. TX start Range: Sets start range for simultaneous transmission. The setting range
is 100-5000 m. Note however that simultaneous transmission is not available with the 5000
m range.
