■ Battery caution
Msuse of Lthum-Ion batteres may result n the follow-
ng hazards: smoke, fire, or the battery may rupture.
Msuse can also cause damage to the battery or deg-
radaton of battery performance.
R DANGER! Use and charge only specfed Icom battery
pack wth Icom rados or Icom charger. Only Icom battery
pack s tested and approved for use and charge wth Icom
rados or Icom charger. Usng thrd-party or counterfet bat-
tery packs or charger may cause smoke, fre, or cause the
battery to burst.
D Battery caution
R DANGER! DO NOT hammer or otherwse mpact the bat-
tery. Do not use the battery f t has been severely mpacted
or dropped, or f the battery has been subjected to heavy
pressure. Battery damage may not be vsble on the outsde
of the case. Even f the surface of the battery does not show
cracks or any other damage, the cells nsde the battery may
rupture or catch fire.

BATTERY CHARGING

R DANGER! NEVER use or leave battery pack n areas
wth temperatures above +60˚C. Hgh temperature buldup n
the battery, such as could occur near fires or stoves, nsde
a sun-heated car, or by settng the battery n drect sunlght
may cause the battery to rupture or catch fre. Excessve
temperatures may also degrade battery performance or
shorten battery lfe.
R DANGER! DO NOT expose the battery to ran, snow,
saltwater, or any other lquds. Never charge or use a wet
battery. If the battery gets wet, be sure to wpe t dry before
usng. The battery by tself s not waterproof.
R DANGER! NEVER ncnerate a used battery pack snce
nternal battery gas may cause them to rupture or may
cause an exploson.
R DANGER! NEVER solder the battery termnals, or
NEVER modfy the battery pack. Ths may cause heat gen-
eraton, and the battery may rupture, emt smoke or catch
fire.
R DANGER! Use the battery only wth the transcever for
whch t s specfed. Never use a battery wth any other
equpment, or for any purpose that s not descrbed n ths
nstructon manual.
R DANGER! If flud from nsde the battery gets n your
eyes, blndness can result. Rnse your eyes wth clean water,
wthout rubbng them, and see a doctor mmedately.
