BATTERY CHARGING
WARNING! Immedately stop usng the battery f t emts an
abnormal odour, heats up, or s dscoloured or deformed. If
any of these condtons occur, contact your Icom dealer or
dstrbutor.
WARNING! Immedately wash, usng clean water, any part
of the body that comes nto contact wth flud from nsde the
battery.
WARNING! NEVER put the battery n a mcrowave oven,
hgh-pressure contaner, or n an nducton heatng cooker.
Ths could cause overheatng, a fire, or cause the battery to
rupture.
CAUTION! Always use the battery wthn the specfc tem-
perature range for the transcever (–15˚C to +55˚C) and the
battery tself (–20˚C to +60˚C). Usng the battery out of ts
specfic temperature range wll reduce the battery's perform-
ance and battery lfe.
CAUTION! Shorter battery lfe could occur f the battery s
left fully charged, completely dscharged, or n an excessve
temperature envronment (above +50˚C) for an extended
perod of tme. If the battery must be left unused for a long
tme, t must be detached from the rado after dschargng.
You may use the battery untl the remanng capacty s about
half, then keep t safely n a cool dry place wth the tempera-
ture range as below;
–20˚C to +50˚C
–20˚C to +35˚C
–20˚C to +20˚C

D Charging caution

R DANGER! NEVER charge the battery pack n areas wth
extremely hgh temperatures, such as near fres or stoves,
nsde a sun-heated car, or n drect sunlght. In such env-
ronments, the safety/protecton crcut n the battery wll act-
vate, causng the battery to stop chargng.
WARNING! DO NOT charge or leave the battery n the bat-
tery charger beyond the specfc tme for chargng. If the
battery s not completely charged by the specfic tme, stop
chargng and remove the battery from the battery charger.
Contnung to charge the battery beyond the specfc tme
lmt may cause a fire, overheatng, or the battery may rup-
ture.
WARNING! NEVER nsert the transcever (battery attached
to the transcever) nto the charger f t s wet or soled. Ths
could corrode the battery charger termnals or damage the
charger. The charger s not waterproof.
CAUTION! DO NOT charge the battery outsde of the spe-
cfc temperature range: ±0˚C to +40˚C. Icom recommends
chargng the battery at +20˚C. The battery may heat up or
rupture f charged out of the specfc temperature range.
Addtonally, battery performance or battery lfe may be re-
duced.
