Introduction

This chapter provides beeper and LED definitions, scanning techniques, general instructions and tips about scanning, and decode zone
diagrams.

Beeper Definitions

The scanner issues different beep sequences and patterns to indicate status.

Power up.
A bar code symbol was decoded (if decode beeper is enabled).
1. A transmission error was detected in a scanned symbol. The data is ignored. This occurs if a
unit is not properly configured. Check option setting.
2. When communicating with a cradle, the cradle acknowledges receipt of data. If the
acknowledgment is not received, this transmission error beep sequence sounds. Data may
still have been received by the host. Check the host system for receipt of transmitted data. If
data was not received by the host, re-scan the bar code.
Conversion or format error.
Scanner detects power when inserted into a cradle.
Note: This feature is enabled by default and can be disabled (see
Out of memory - unable to store a new bar code.
ADF transmit error.
RS-232 receive error.
Input error, incorrect bar code or Cancel scanned, wrong entry, incorrect bar code programming
sequence; remain in program mode.
Keyboard parameter selected. Enter value using bar code keypad.
Successful program exit with change in the parameter setting.
Out of host parameter storage space. Scan
Pairing bar code scanned.
Bluetooth connection established.
Bluetooth disconnection event.
Note: When connected to a remote device using SPP or HID, if a disconnect beep sequence
sounds immediately after a bar code is scanned, check the host device for receipt of transmitted
data. It is possible that an attempt was made to transmit the last bar code scanned after the
connection was lost.
Page timeout; remote device is out of range/not powered.
Connection attempt was rejected by remote device.
New Code 39 data was entered into the buffer.
