Changing the Ribbon

The sign informs you of the status of remaining ribbon, and warn if it is almost running out.
The starter ribbon prints up to 144 pages (UK only), 30 pages (Others).
This sign means remaining ribbon will be 100% - 50%.
This sign means remaining ribbon will be under 49% - 20%.
This sign means remaining ribbon will be under 19% - 1%.
The screen displays RIBBN NEAR EMPTY with beep (under 10% - 1%).
This sign means remaing ribbon will be 0%.

Change used ribbon immediately. See "Accesssory
List" on page 78.

a. Open the cover by lifting the lever on the
right side of the cover (1).
b. Remove the print cartridge containing
the used ribbon (2).
c. Set the cartridge upside-down with the
blue gear in the upper left corner (3).

Take the used ribbon out of the cartridge:
a. Lift out the lower roll.
b. Snap out the upper white spool (1) and
slide the roll off the blue gear (2). (Do
not remove the blue gear.)
