17 TROUBLESHOOTING

W Are all the connections

Are the amplifier
and speakers operating
If the DVM-1800 does not seem to be functioning
damaged. Turn off the power, unplug the power cord from the power outlet, and contact your store of purchase or nearest DENON sales office.
Symptom
Power does not turn on.
Playback does not start when PLAY button
is pressed.
Playback stops immediately.
Picture does not appear.
Sound is not produced or sound quality is
poor.
Menu

Discs other than DVDs. video CDs and musrc CDs cannot be played.

. Use the procedure descrrbed below to reset all the settrngs to the factory defaults.
In the stop mode, press and hold in the STILL/PAUSE, SKIP 044)
DVD player for at least 3 seconds. (Check that "lnrtialrzed" has turned off from the TV screen.)
. The drsc does not play with the selected audro or subtrtle language If that audro or subtitle language
IS not included on that DVD.
Set the "TV Aspect" default settrng to the proper settrng for the connected TV.

. Set the "On-Screen Messages"
. Check the default settrng for the disc language's menu language.
Check that the batteries are Inserted rn the proper "0" and "0" directions

. The batteries are dead. Replace them wrth new batteries.
. Pornt the remote control unit at the remote control sensor when operating It.
Operate the remote control unrt wrthin a drstance of 7 meters from the remote control sensor.

Remove the obstacle between the remote control unrt and remote control sensor.

Check
for DVDs which do not contarn multrple angles. In some cases
and OPEN/CLOSE buttons on the
default settrng to "On".
